The "Natural" Bond

There is something about entering a room and seeing fellow naturals. You feel a sense of comfort, almost like you know them. Natural hair is a conversation starter. "What do you use in your hair?" You want to know how they did their styles, what color they used, maybe even how long it took. Either way, naturals have a bond with one another.

We have shared many experiences such as the letting go of relaxed hair, being frustrated with products not doing what they promise, and having products stashed away that we will never use again. Without even knowing so much as their name, we feel like we know so much about them. We wonder if they ever had the "I could never go natural" comment said to them. The "What are you doing to your hair?" question. Curious to know if they ever had the nay sayers tell them about the need to maintain a relaxer. And most likely...they have. I challenge the ladies...YOU ladies with your dreads, Teenie Weenie Afro, Bodacious Fro, Sisterlocks, Fade, and every other natural style to always make sure you walk tall and proud with every step you take. We must create a sisterhood amongst natural women who are happy to be nappy. We as women of color rocking our own natural tress, have an aura about us that is undeniable. I love you ladies and wish you the best. Stay Natural
