Why did you decide to go natural?
>I decided to go natural due to some unexpected inspiration in my life. I was inspired by my "Aunt" who had georgeous, long, and healthy looking dreadlocks. The look was mature, elegant/classy, and made a fierce statement regarding confidence, character, and personality. I was at a phase in my life where I was not only transitioning personally, I was transitioning professionally. Dreadlocks, on a confident black woman, was the look I going for and it provided my hair with the strength and the healthy look that was just as important.
What was some of the feedback you got once you informed friends/family about your decision to go natural?
>My family was very support, although at times I was not so confident. The beginning phases of my dreads were not appealing. "I" felt the look was not appealing at times, but I also understood this process was going to take time. My co-workers asked questions, but were never degrading. Once my hair started to lock, the response was even more amazing. I was more than happy I stuck out the "not so pretty" phase to be where I am now! Lol!
What do you love most about being or going natural?
>I love that my hair is healthy, lengthy, sexy, and seperates me from the next candidate for the job! It can either hurt or help me, but I know one thing, they will remember me :-)
What are your favorite products for your natural hair?
>I primarily use Jamaican Mango and Lime Gel Locking Gel. I am interested in trying new and healthy products.
Your locks are stunning. I liked what you had to say about being natural. Being natural is one of our many facets that make us unique!
