Because I informed you earlier that I am a recovering product junkie (minus the recovering part) I have purchased two more products today. I picked up Vegetable Glycerine, NOW brand, at Whole Foods along with Aubrey's Organics Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Conditioner. My total was about $14-$15.
I read a lot about the benefits of Glycerine, like the fact that it is derived entirely from vegetable oil, it is hypoallergenic, and suitable for use in all of your favorite cosmetic applications. It's softening and moisturizing features are ideal for making your own facial, hair and body care products, to give your skin and hair a healthy glow. Glycerin is hygroscopic in nature, which means it absorbs water from it's surroundings. Using vegetable glycerin can greatly condition dry, frizzy and brittle hair. If you are one who is suffering from dry, flaky scalp, rubbing some vegetable glycerin on scalp can greatly alleviate irritation. Apart from moisturizing benefits of glycerin, it also greatly helps to strengthen the hair, which leads to less breakage of the hair, and less formation of split ends.
Now for Aubrey's Organics Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner, this is a highly praised conditioner on YouTube.com and many other websites and blogs. This conditioner contains Organic Shea Butter & Rosa Mosqueta Oil, Organic Aloe Vera, and Honeysuckle Oil, and many more yummy ingredients. Some of the benefits include; deep-conditioning/protecting, soften hair texture, replenishing moisture, and adding a soft, floral scent. This is one that is not only used by naturals, but those looking for healthy hair.
A mixture that I found online that includes both of my new purchases and can be used as a leave in conditioner or as a daily refresher; mix 2 tbsp vegetable glycerin, 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 2 tbsp Aubrey organics honeysuckle rose conditioner and 10 drops of rosemary essential oil in an 8 oz. bottle then fill with distilled water. I use it as a leave-in conditioner, to do twists and as a daily refresher.
