Meet The Kinky Girls

Name
>Angela

Nickname
>Natural Bombshell

Why did you decide to go natural?
>There wasn't one particular reason I decided to go natural, there were many. After years of hair woes in which I attained good length only to lose it to my ill management. My little sisters courageous decision to cut her long hair and start over natural with locks. The money I was spending on relaxers that were burning my scalp, thinning and damaging my hair. I also realized I new nothing about the natural state of my hair. I was relaxed before I could remember what it looked like prior and I wanted to see what my hair was in its natural state!

What was some of the feedback you got once you informed friends/family about your decision to go natural?
>Surprisingly everyone has been real positive, except for a few knuckleheads. My father a few months ago, who never notices anything the women in the family do with their hair, said something to me so touching I carry it with me always:Papa: "Is that a wig on your head?" refering to my TWAMe: "NO PAPA! Thats my hair!"Papa: "Oh I was just wondering.....I like it. Its you....you remind me of your mother long ago."If you knew anything about my father you would know how big a deal that is. I think on that conversation a lot and it only fuels my hair growing fire.

What do you love most about being or going natural?
>It may not be that serious for some but I feel like a completely new person. I have fallen in love with my hair and I love washing my hair and conditioning and experimenting with new products that may or may not work for me. I feel unique.

What are your favorite products for your natural hair?
>I try to keep it simple but my fellow Kinky Girls are bringing out the product junkie in me. I've been trying to go completely organic with my hair but that requires a level of dedication I do not have yet. But what works for me simply is:Giovanni Smooth as Silk Shampoo & ConditionerGiovanni Nutrafix Hair ReconstructorSuave Tropical Coconut ConditionerSuave Professionals Humectant (thanks Coiled Cutie)Giovanni Leave In Hair TreatmentInfusium 23Burts Bee's Baby Shampooand the beloved Shea Butter/Organic Coconut Oil mix.

Your hair is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing the story about your dad...I am close to mine too, so when Daddy says it's ok, forget about what everyone else thinks! I love the high puff in the last pic! :) Keep growing, girlie! :) Love ya!
